About the event

Some seeds require a temperature change to trigger the end of a dormancy (or sleep) period; a process called stratification. Many native seeds have this built-in dormancy mechanism that protects them from germinating before killing frosts or in drought. One of the easiest ways to cold stratify seeds is to let nature do the work, either by planting seeds in the fall outdoors or starting them in a container during the winter.


This workshop will cover everything you need to know about getting native wildflower seeds started along with a brief presentation on gardening for wildlife.


Space is limited, please register in advance!
